Happy New Year from Chloe

I just wanted to let you know how I am doing. My new home is full of love and fun. We just celebrated something called "Christmas" and I had the most packages to open of anyone! Santa brought me a Chirpi chew. It is something very hard and natural, made in the Himalayas of yak milk, lime juice and something no dog can chew through for a long time. I fooled them, I had it gone in two days! I also got real deer antlers. They are so yummy and strong. My mom says all I get is calcium when I chew them up. That is good because I am not eating plastic or anything bad. Mom and dad always think of that. I got a huge bag of pure chicken jerky from my new friend, Poppy. She is a multipoo. I got her a stuffed husky... she calls it her boyfriend. I got King balls that squeak, a piggy that squeaks, and a bear that squeaks. Can you tell I have a thing for squeaky toys? I also got a ton of different treats.
I have a cousin now and she is about a month younger than me. Her name is Sky, and she is a weimaraner. We have play dates and she comes to my house to play in the back yard. We play very hard and have a lot of fun. Her mom, auntie Stella, made me special natural cookies from scratch. I never knew what oatmeal was before eating them! It goes well with the applesauce and bananas. Oh boy, I have the goodies!
I have learned to sit and stay, I never go potty anywhere but in the back yard. I listen to "no" all of the time, and I love to fetch the ball! I go on walks every day and I have found the best place to chase these awful things called ducks. They hiss at me, and aren't friendly. I have a lot of new friends. My boy, Ian, takes me to the beach. I love to play with shells. I just carry them around and toss them, but my favorite thing is to bring them home and hide them in the yard and try to find them again.
I have a new bed, but the couches are more comfortable, especially when there are other people on them. I take care of my "Gaga," she is very old and has Parkinson's, but she uses her hands to pet me and that makes everyone very happy. She loves me and I love to sleep with my head on her lap and keep her warm.
I am so happy with my family. Mom and dad always ask someone, named God, wha tthey every did to deserve me. We love each other so much, it feels like I have always belonged here. Thank you for finding a family for me. I love you for what you have done for me. I pray every day that the lost, abandoned, and homeless pups find you to help them. Happy New Year! With love from the bottom of my heart, Chloe (the dog formerly known as Kiki)

Normie

This is Normie that we adopted out 2 years ago. He's an adorable, sweet boy that has lots of energy. Mary Ann does agility with her dogs, and I knew it was a perfect fit for Normie! I talked her into fostering him, hoping that they would adopt - AND THEY DID!
What a GREAT home he has!!

Bear Boy!

Just wanted to tell you Merry Christmas and let you know that Bear is doing great! He is such a happy dog and so smart. In 5 minutes of working with him on the leash he was walking by my side and if I stop he backs up behind me and sits down all on his own. Thanks again for being so good to him while he was with you.

Felisha

Felisha came to Lost Angels 5 1/2 years ago from HCAS a MESS.. We had to get her out of there in 24 hours or she would be put down. SHe was so matted and dirty and had a bad case of anemia. Now she is living the life. THis is her after her Christmas grooming. Her Daddy bought her a new Santa hat!!

Chanel and Prince

It's been a whole year since Chanel and Prince have been adopted! They have both brought so much Love & Joy to our home!
I would like to encourage everyone to adopt an older pet! They are so loving and deserving of a good home! I can't imagine a home without pets. We had lost our beloved "Pucci" and I didn't think we could go through becoming attached to another dog, but the truth is: There are so many homeless pets that need a good, loving home and pet lovers have allot of love to give! It's what we do. It's what we sign up for. We love them with all we have and they give that love back ten-fold!

Prince & Molly

Just wanted you to know that Prince and Molly are wonderful and we are excited for Santa to visit them! Yesterday we had twelve kids over to make gingerbread houses and the dogs were GREAT! They cuddled and nuzzled with the kids all day long. Thank you again for everything.

Mork, Mindy and Fluffy

Pictures of Mork, Mindy (adopted from Lost Angels) and our cat, Fluffy. We've had the dogs for 5 years now and I'm so glad we took them both. I'm sure they are too. They are doing wonderfully, but getting older. They are between 12 and 14 and Mindy has Cushings Syndrome, but the medication is working well for her.

Keep up the great work. I'm so glad we have organizations like Lost Angels to save these innocent animals!

Best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a joyous and successful New Year.

Caesar

In October 2005, The Tobias household was forever changed with the addition of our beloved Jack Russell/Basset Hound mix, Caesar. It was a big decision to decide to adopt another dog after losing our faithful friend Leather, the wonder-cocker spaniel, but alas it was time.

Caesar has been a true friend. He is entertaining and brilliant. Chris, Gabe and I take great pride to make sure everyone we meet and come in contact with know and love him as much as we do!

Here he is on a chilly December day, "sunning" on the back porch.....ah....the life! He is a special boy and he knows it. In return he gives us endless hours of smiles and giggles and material for great stories and quips.

Thank you, Lost Angels for all you do. Our hope is that all adoption stories could go as well as ours did. HAIL CAESAR, we love you.........

The Fight for Freedom

LeAnn is a little Shih Tzu. She lived in a home at one time. Then this poor little girl found herself in a kill shelter. Everyone walked by her not giving her a thought. See, this little girl had a hole in her eye. (yes, you seen that right) a hole in her eye. Some how this little girl was hurt and nobody wanted to help her. Till Lost Angels step up. With a tear in her eye an Angels held her and said "NO Problem, she will be to the Vet in the morning". The next day off to Dade City Vet hosp she went. She received her home again chip and checked by the Vet. Sad to say, She did need her eye removed. In only a few days LeAnn is off running around with no worries. She is now safe, happy and healthy thanks to all those that care.. (she is looking for forever home. See her on our web site.)

Happy Scrappy

Scrappy was found by Lost Angels Animal Rescue in pretty bad shape. He was found running loose and his harness/collar was so tight that he was missing hair and his neck was raw and bleeding. 1 year later Scrappy is happy & healthy and doing wonderful. He loves to play with his food, play with his toys and burrow down and cuddle. He was very excited about our newest addition to the family, Lucy the kitty. He was so excited he scared Lucy a bit at first, but now they are great friends and love to play with each other. Lucy loves to chase the laser light while Scrappy likes to chase Lucy. Scrappy has found his forever family.

Sunny and Buddy, our Lost Angels

Here are Sunny and Buddy enjoying a nap in the sun. We adopted Sunny from Lost Angels after we had to put our Dalmation Coach down due to health issues. She is such a sweetheart and brought joy to what was a difficult time.
We adopted Buddy from Lost Angels about a year and half ago so Sunny would have a playmate. I don't think they would know what to do without each other now.

Lost Angels has done a great job of taking care of these wonderful pets so that they can come into our lives.

The little shihtzu that could...

Papi (aka) Geezer found us on February of '09. From the first time I saw his big beautiful eyes I knew I had to have him. We went to check him out that morning and got there early, so when his foster mom showed up with him I spotted him from a distance and I was instantly smitten. As soon as he nestled in my arms, I felt such love I couldn't contain the tears. His foster mom informed us he was quite sickly and may not live much longer, maybe only a couple of months. I didn't care, I still knew in my heart I wanted to give him a good life even if only for a little while.

Now, almost 2 yrs later Papi is living proof of the power of love. He is doing great and everyday is such a gift with him in our lives. He is such a character and so sweet, funny and loving. Everyone who learns of his story says he is one lucky little dog, but we feel like we are the lucky ones to have found him. This little 7 lb bundle of love has opened our hearts and taught us unconditional love. Thank you Lost Angels and Patti for the gift of Papi!

Bee & Diasy

Daisy is doing so well and seems to be 100% happy. She loves
to ride around with us, visit her dog friends, and eat at restaurants where
we can sit outside. She is full of pep and joy! Our friends wonder what
happened to the pups she had last summer......several want to adopt anyone
related to Daisy! She continues to be a very good girl and not phased by
anything but a squirrel! We continue to be very grateful to you for
allowing us to have this little "Found Angel".......Beth/Bee

Patina

We adopted Patina from the adoption expo almost 4 years ago. Life was not so happy for me then. I had just left my entire family and moved to FL with my husband who worked more hours then I thought he could.
Tina is my little angle and we love her so much ( so does her brother Cleveland)
Nothing makes me smile more then she does, she is my best friend, and I am so grateful every single day for her and for you guys...you saved us both.

Camree

Just thought you might enjoy seeing how Camree traveled on our last motor home trip. My husband has started calling Mysty “mama bear”. And Camree is almost as tall as she is. I remember telling you that we were looking for a puppy who was “full of herself” and can, with all confidence, report that Camree has lived up to that and then some! She is adorable; we are spoiling her, and loving every minute. THANKS WENDY! One of your lost angels is living in heavenI promise:)Robin

Lazy Boys

Joey (who we now call Lobo) is doing AWESOME, I love love love him so so much!!! :) He gets along so well with our other LAAR baby, Rio, and we just recently moved back home to New Mexico and bought our first house, and the dogs LOVE to run and chase eachother around all the rooms and yard! Lobo is just my little cuddle buddy, he follows me everywhere and always loves being held. I'm also starting to teach him some tricks and he's a pretty quick learner! The whole extended family loves him too, they call him my baby...and even my little nephew who was afraid of dogs has fallen in love with him and always likes to help me walk him :)
I'm always so thankful to you guys for giving me the two best dog-babies in the whole world, haha! :)
Best Wishes to you and LAAR,
Krystal Sena

Sasha

I am sure you have gotten other happy ending stories but let me assure you that no other family is as fortunate as we are to have found our Sasha. She is a mixed breed that won my heart in 2005. I was NOT planning on adopting a dog. In fact, I was a newly single mother of two (ages 4 and 1) and that was the furthest thing from my mind. We were going to another store that day and we saw the dogs for adoption and walked over just so the kids could get a better look. I lived in a condo at the time and the lady said "I have the perfect dog for you. She won't get too big but she will be big enough to handle rough play from the kids." She handed me this little black dog that snuggled right in to my neck and I was hooked. Her name she said was Sally. My 4 year old re-named her Sasha and the rest is history. I have had dogs throughout my entire life and I do believe that Sasha is the most sweet natured dog I have ever had. She LOVES my kids. She protects our house. She can do tricks and has been super easy to train. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body. I don't know why someone would abandon a sweet little puppy like her, but we are glad she ended up at Lost Angels and we are glad that we happened by that day and fell in love. She is 5 years old and I regret not having written sooner.

Metu and Elloit

I was lucky enough to get Metu and Elloit from you almost 4 years ago. They are so wonderful and I am lucky enough to have them in my life. Metu just looks for a lap to lie on and Elloit, well... he just looks for something to chew on. I would not trade them for the world. Thank you!!

Benjamin

Thank you Lost Angels for finding me my Benjamin, my life just wouldn't be the same with out him.... I love him so much, thank you for the inspiration.

Maxie

Another photo to add to your successful adoptions album. This is Maxie (formerly known and Maximum). At only 3 months she is super smart, very sweet, and just adores hanging out with and playing with her 4 month old sister (from Pasco Animal Rescue). Needless to say, the girls are spoiled :)

Update on Mercy

Mercy is still under our Doctors care but is doing well and is expected to have a full recovery. There was some nerve damage to her left ear so she has limited movement of it but otherwise she is happy, lovable and full of life!

Mercy Me!

As seen on Channel 8 news this week, a woman found Mercy Wednesday night in her neighborhood and called her co-worker, a rescue volunteer, for help. It has been confirmed that she was shot at close range execution style by what they believe was a .22 caliber handgun. Tampa Veterinary Hospital will attempt to secure any evidence during her surgery this morning that might help their investigation. Mercy was feeling better this morning after a night of I.V. fluids, antibiotics and pain meds. She was bright and alert for her interview and was not camera sigh in the least bit. Lost Angels needs your help to support the rehabilitation of Mercy. No donation is too small. Lost Angels Rescue is a 501c3 rescue and your donation is tax deductible. Please donate to help Mercy. Pictures of her progress will be posted regularly.
