Tales of Tessa

After her 3rd grooming. She doesn't like to have her photo taken - hence tail down and no smile.
Her mouth is a bit crooked from the teeth removal and when she's tired, her tongue hangs out a bit on the right, lol! But look at all that fur! She walks almost a mile everyday and has learned how to play with Bingo, my Shihtzu. She eats everything. She's producing tears in both eyes and we have her skin allergies under control. Her hearing isn't great, but she has spirit enough to share!
When I start to close the house down for the night, she goes into my bedroom and sits by her chair for me to lift her up so she can sleep. She snores. Yup, she's one happy girl!

Christmas Joy

Julie and I just wanted to send you our latest family picture.  Roxie has been nothing short of amazing, and our little guy Jackson definitely has a best friend for years to come.

You can't tell in this picture (because she's being so protective :o)  ), but she is the happiest pup we've ever seen.  I think Julie would agree that we would never have a baby if it weren't for Roxie to show us how to care for others.  We both joke about who found her (we all know it was me because Julie was holding one of her brothers), but we remember how we almost lost her because my license didn't match.  We were in tears that day, thinking we'd lost her.  Here we are, she just celebrated her 21st birthday.  She had too many Dogdka & Tonics at the bar, but she made it :o)

Thank you both so much for what you do every day to help so many.  Because of your influence, we rescued Gracie who was a week from being put down for advanced heartworms.  We saved her, and she's made our family complete.  Her and Roxie are like mother and daughter.

We hope you had a Merry Christmas, and have a safe and Happy New Year.

Riley Enjoys His New Yard

Riley is doing very well adjusting to his new home. Here is a picture of him
enjoying the sun today in the back yard.  He loves to be outside and enjoys
investigating the yard with my two Labs'.  Today he buried his treat in the
dirt, then later dug it up and ate it. He is quite the character and has
added life to a very quiet house.  He is a very good boy.

Anja waiting for Santa!

Ozzie - now Rundo

We are so happy and fortunate to have been chosen by Ozzie, whom we're renamed Rundo. He is so sweet, well behaved, yet goofy and playful. We welcomed him into our home with our yellow lab, Lucky and they are getting along so well. Lucky does his lab thing and Rundo chases and barks at him and then runs to me. Brave little man. :) He has so much love to give and greets me at the door with a raspy howl. SO adorable every time. He has found his forever home. Thank you Lost Angels!

Beautiful Belle - Heartworm Success Story

This is a picture of my healthy, beautiful, blessing, named Belle.  We rescued her a couple of years ago through Lost Angels Rescue in Florida.  When we got her we were told she had heart worms and we were advised to go with the slow kill treatment so that is what we did.  About six months ago we had her tested again and the wonderful news was that she was heart-worm free and in great health.  Belle travels with us in our motor home.  She is the most wonderfully behaved dog we have ever had.  She keeps my husband and I entertained as she is so delighted to do whatever pleases us.   I had a dog when I was growing up in Florida that also had heart worms and I chose to put her through the heart worm treatment and she didn't  make it.   I would never put another dog through that again.  We so love our Belle and are so happy we stuck with the slow kill.  By the way, in our travels I have met so many people who rescued a dog with heart worms and now they are also heart worm free after this new treatment.

Tiki!

Here I am in my new living room. Cute Huh?

Here I am half way up the steps now I can go the whole way.

I think my sister from across the alley loves me just as much I never knew so many people would love me.

This is my new dad. My mom says I'm a daddy's girl. I don't know what that means but I do know I really love him a lot and I'm pretty sure the feeling is mutual because my mom has to keep telling him he has to say no to some of my requests. I really think he would give me anything I want. :)

Hi everyone I want to thank you so much for finding me my new home. My new parents think I am the greatest. They say I have completed their family and that I was a perfect match. They said Lost Angels is the BEST. I have been here a litttle over a week and have learned so much. I can go up the stairs all by myself and I do every time they leave me even for a minute. I go potty outside and recognize my cues. I've decided lying against my dad's head is the best place to get a really good nights rest. My new brother and I have started playing the last couple days and I really love him. I think he feels the same but he tries to be macho. Life is great and I owe it all to the great people at Lost Angel's. I have sent you a few pictures they have taken of me. I hope you have all had a Very Happy Thanksgiving. P.S I love turkey and stuffing

Love You
Little Girl TikiI

Tucker & Tatum (Gabriella)

Thank you so much for getting back to me regarding the rabies vaccination certificate this evening.  I again, truly appreciate your help.  One thing we were hoping for is being able to access their microchip information, I tried to get access and register check on their registration information.  We were also advised by our vet to make sure that we have access to that information.

We lost our cocker spaniel to congestive heart failure in June and were looking for two friends together, as we have no children and are pets are the world to us.  They helped to mend and fill the void in our hearts.  I think we inspired others as well because many of our work friends adopted rescue animals as well.  When we got them, Gabriella's (Tatum) fur was eaten off of one her feet and Tucker had missing hair from his ear.  Our vet wasn't sure if the hair would come back and it didn't matter to us.  It totally did.  It saddens me that people are so cruel to these animals.  I am glad to say that they are both loved and give us so much too.  They are spoiled and have right to be so.  Find attached a couple of pictures.  The first one was taken probably late August, the second in early September and the last at Halloween.

Thank you so much for allowing us to raise them and become our family.

RIP Hattie

Sometimes no matter how hard you want something or how hard you try it simply is not meant to be. Tonight Hattie lost her battle to win a new life with me. We both wanted it so bad but her suffering was to much for the both of us. I spent t...
he weekend doing all that I could but it was just to late for this sweet angel. As hard as it was to say goodbye if I had it all to do again I would becaus...e if I don't have anything else I at least have the comfort of knowing that I tried. She did not die alone on the side of the road. She died in my arms. Tonight I will wonder why God gave me this little sweet old lady and why she did not have that wonderful second chance that all of us want for them. What lesson was I to learn with the gift of Hattie. Please think of Hattie tonight and do something special for a four legged in the Honor and Memory of Hattie.

Ranger Walks into a FAMILY : )

Ranger was found wandering.  After many weeks of looking for his owners, it became evident that no one was looking for him.  Ranger got his new family this week and now shares his life with a mom and dad and 4 siblings (3 dogs and 1 cat).

From his new family:
I just wanted to give you an update on Ranger! He is adjusting wonderfully! He is getting along well with our other pupsJ He is also so fascinated with our cat! He is such a funny happy little guy! Nothing fazes him! We just all adore him! I included some pics I took of him! I will be in touch! We can’t thank you enough for everything!

Daisy & Sumo

I wanted to give you an update on Daisy.   She had her surgery for bladder stones and fully recovered.   I met with Daisy and Jennifer this afternoon as she wanted to do it while her kids were in school.

She is a total sweetheart and is Sumo’s long lost twin personality wise.    We decided it was best for me to take Daisy today as not to delay it any longer.   We packed up all her stuff and I brought her home to meet Sumo.

They seems to be getting along great.   Here’s a picture of the two of them this afternoon.  (Daisy on the left, Sumo on the right).   It looks like Sumo finally has a sister and playmate.

The Silver Lining

I just thought I’d send you a quick update. Silver is now “Dingo”.  It’s official and he comes to it already. A friend saw his adoption photo and said he looked like a “Tank”. We were tempted but he seemed to already like “Dingo”.

I tried to give him a little dental bone and he acted as though he had never seen a chewy before! Finally, after soaking it in a little chicken broth, he put it in his mouth and carried it around for hours like a cigar. (See Photos) He wouldn’t even give it up during his walk at the park.

He loves lying in the sun in the backyard when he first gets up….usually in the grass, but sometimes rolling in the dirt.

The licking issue is almost licked! (knock on wood) We had a couple of initial setbacks but it has completely healed over and dried up.

He had his first trip to the Davis island doggie beach and loved it! When we got there he ran right into the water and then acted startled but with a little encouragement he was swimming like a pro. He made friends with a min-pin-Chihuahua mix that followed him around the entire time and really seemed to enjoy swimming.

I made him a handicapped ramp for the bed but he still sits by it and grumbles until one of us pick him up. He has settled in very well and is getting spoiled rotten. He would lay in my arm like a baby all day long if I’d let him.

Matt adores him and says almost every day how lucky we got to find him and that it was definitely meant to be.

He’s doing great!

The Witch and the Scarecrow!

Missy (the witch) and Scooter (the scarecrow) got dressed up at daycare.  Scooter is a Lost Angels dog - we got him from the shelter before he was euthanized... he now has a WONDERFUL home : )

Newest Addition... Tiki

We rescued Tiki from Polk County Animal Services.  Her before and after pictures show what a wonderful life change this little girl has just had!

Tiki is approx 1 year old.  She needs to learn some sozialization skills like walking on a leash, but she is a very sweet girl and will be up for adoption soon.

Cuddle Bug Chloe!

Chloe was taken to a vet in Pensacola with her older brother to be euthanized because her owner didn't want dogs anymore.. Her poor brother was old and the vet did'
as his owner requested but when he saw how young and healthy Chloewas  he couldn't do it.  He vetted Chloe and called Mickey who volunteers at the Pensacola shelter.  Mickey contacted me and asked if we had room for Chloe.  At the time one of our former adopters had lost her chihuahua and was looking for another.  She only likes females so we told her about Chloe.. Well by the time I got Chloe here Elsa had adopted a couple other dogs but agreed to foster Chloe until she found a home.  Thank God for Dawn who volunteered to show Chloe at Petco on Saturdays and also took care of her adoption and getting her microchipped.. :)

Anyway Chloe has found her HOME!!  And I can't be happier that this little girl is finally where she will be loved for life.
Patty
From Chloe's new family!

We've been so wrapped up with this little girl, it's amazing.  She is just a bundle of love and her favorite spot is definitely being on someone's lap.  She already walks around like she owns the place so she is very settled in and happy.  She loves the little squeaky toys, but boy does she go thru them quickly!!!  LOL  I think we'll have to call her the Squeaky Terminator!!!!  She is spoiled rotten already and Robert is already a total pushover with her.  He is going to be a handful and he has to learn not to give her so many little treats!!

Thank you so very much for all your efforts in helping us adopt her.  We are spreading the word around about your organization.  We have a vet appointment tomorrow and will have them let people know about you guys when anyone is looking to adopt.

I'll certainly keep in touch and keep you updated on our little Chloe!!

Thanks again!!!

Big Bear!

This is Bear.  He came to Lost Angels after being filtered through many homes.  He needed some training and some love and was in foster care for almost 2 years.  One day the perfect owner drove up on his motorcycle and it was love at first sight!
