I wanted to send you some pictures showing her growth and the life she is living. Armando and I are so blessed with this little angel. She has changed our lives for the better and love her beyond words. She has grown up to be an extraordinary dog and member of our family. She has become our little protector and I have even caught her “patrolling” the house in the middle of night going to all the doors and the sliding glass door just looking into the yard. She has also become a big sister to our 2nd rescue, Max and the bond those two have developed is truly amazing. UPDATE 2/2: Just wanted to share a picture of Chloe and her new mom, couldn't ask for a better home, and they love her!! Thanks Jacquelin Love Wester!!

UPDATE 1/20: Chloe got adopted!! She has SUCH a wonderful new home, and has turned out to be the sweetest, most gentle little girl!! THANK YOU GOD - AGAIN!!

UPDATE 12/10: WE HAVE A FOSTER HOME!! YAY!!! Thanks to EVERYONE that has helped and shared and prayed for our little girl! If this foster home doesn't work out, we even have a back-up in place. THANK YOU GOD!

New pix of Chloe attached. Please continue to share, I'd love to find a foster home or permanent home before this Saturday, 12/12 - she's scheduled to go to a no-kill shelter then, and I really don't want to do that unless I have to!

UPDATE MONDAY 12/7: Up until today the girls at the clinic have been afraid to let Chloe run in the fenced-in play yard, because they were afraid she would get scared, and would be hard to catch. But since she doesn't leash-walk, they let her run a bit today. She had a ball, and ever since has just been a lap dog! Wants to be picked up all the time. So cute!

UPDATE: She is H/W negative, and weighs on 15 lbs. Just heard from the vet - he thinks she is just over a year old, exam was fine, she's healthy. Was very sweet during exam. Said she was a little nervous, but when she's scared she just shows fear and not aggression. Please share, she's still sitting at my vet's office in a cage....

FOSTER HOME DESPERATELY NEEDED - TAMPA AREA! I found this little girl (I named her Chloe) running down a really busy road yesterday. Took two hours, a McDonald's hamburger and a whole can of dog food to catch her! She's very street-wise, and with the help of a lovely older couple, we were finally able to catch her in their pool enclosure. She's about 17-18 lbs, and young. Lost Angels is overflowing, and I had another group that was going to take her, but now they are full and may not be able to. Right now she's boarding at my vet (read that $$$), and I sure can't take her here, with all my sick little old ones. She is not chipped, and my attempts at finding her owner have come up with nothing. I swear she's the same dog I saw two months ago in a field about 5 miles from where she was caught! She's VERY sweet, just very scared!! Once I finally got her in the car, she went sound asleep. She DEFINITELY needs a home with a securely fenced area. If anyone can help, PLEASE message me ASAP. Thanks!!

Oh how this sweet boy will be missed. Batman came to Lost Angels about 8 years ago. Desiree got a call about a dog who had been run over. Come to find out, he had been run over by his own "family" and left in pain and agony for two weeks. We took him in immediately and got him the help he needed. Batman had to have a metal plate and 7 pins put in his leg, it never slowed him down for a minute. He recovered wonderfully and became my foster. Around this time my parents were looking for a dog for themselves and my little brothers. I just knew Batman was perfect for them. Boy was I right! He stole all of our hearts. Batman was an affectionate boy with soulful eyes who loves to snuggle. He was so funny when someone he loved came over that he hadn't seen in a while and would run around with excitement and whine a little bit until you showed him the attention he deserved. He became a best friend to my brothers, and a fourth child to my parents. He loved to sneak food off the kitchen counters when no one was looking (we are still not sure how he always managed to get up there)! He had a special hiding place for his stash underneath my parents bed. He had a wonderful life with my family and went to dog parks, camping, kayaking, and on trips to NC and the beach.

Batman was diagnosed with cancer. It started on his foot and my parents had it removed several times. Unfortunately, it was a very aggressive form of cancer, and a few months ago the decision was made to stop putting him through surgeries and allow him to live the rest of his life as comfortably as possible. The vet actually can't believe he made it as long as he did. As my brother Jake said, he kicked cancers butt for as long as he could to stay with us.

This past week, he had a very bad night, and his mommy knew it was time. She held him in her arms while we let him go to rainbow bridge.

Letting go is never easy, but I find so much comfort knowing he was given the very best of everything while he was here. Knowing that he received so much love that so many dogs never get to experience.
By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,

Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.

Where the friends of man and woman do run,

When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,

Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.

On this golden land, they wait and they play,

Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,

For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.

Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,

Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,

Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.

All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,

Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;

Together again, both person and pet.

So they run to each other, these friends from long past,

The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,

Has turned into joy once more in each heart.

They embrace with a love that will last forever,

And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

We just love updates - and it is WONDERFUL to hear from Abigail our perfect little pocket lab!! She was Miku when she came to LAAR in need of rescue from the shelter and surgery for her injuries after being hit by a car. She was so scared and shy, you couldn't imagine hearing her bark, but a family who loves and protects you has a way of changing a dog :)

From Abigail's family:
Wanted you to see updated photos of Abigail ! She's doing great and has actually developed a barking habit ! :)Lost Angels Animal Rescue Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17029422229623986949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6315137831467631062.post-58360489045666337962015-07-09T16:31:00.000-07:002015-07-21T07:24:27.309-07:00Sinatra Sings on Rainbow Bridge

Sinatra is a very special puppy we saved from Polk Animal shelter earlier this year. He was a very sick puppy and we rushed to get him out and have him checked out by our vets. He had a severe respiratory infection and was depressed from being in the shelter environment. His name was given to him by the vet tech, Jayme, who took care of him in his first critical days after leaving the shelter. She gave him his name because he had blue eyes and would sing when he was hungry :)

Sinatra grew into a happy, healthy little boy and enjoyed his time with his foster family. But then something wonderful happened, his very own family adopted him!! Over the past several months he enjoyed life with a human brother and a new mom! Unfortunately, Sinatra became very sick again over the last few weeks and began having severe neurological symptoms and quit eating, he went to rainbow bridge this morning, in his own home, surrounded by a family who loved him.

Sinatra's mom Liz says it was a pleasure to have had the time they did with him and an honor to show him love and compassion. RIP Sinatra - we will miss you and are forever glad you made it out of the shelter and into a family, even if for just a short while.

Mitch found Shyla one night in December 5 years ago on his way to his brothers house. She was running frantically, he could tell she was very scared. He is a persistent man and didn't give up until he got her. We found out shortly after that she was pregnant. A week or so later, she had 5 beautiful puppies. Shyla's new family even hosted a Pit Puppy Palooza reunion for Shyla and all her babies with their forever families! It was a wonderful experience.

Shyla has a wonderful home that until recently she shared with a chihuahua (RIP Tai), her 2-legged mom and dad and of course her boy Grey. As you can see they love each other! Shyla was always such a gentle soul. So glad she found her perfect forever home!Lost Angels Animal Rescue Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17029422229623986949noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6315137831467631062.post-48643021859603535122015-03-07T17:21:00.003-08:002015-03-07T17:21:40.389-08:00Angelic Angelika - RIPToday is a sad day for us at Lost Angels. In spite of doing everything we could to save this sweet angel her little heart could not go any more. She crossed over the rainbow bridge this afternoon in the arms of one of the people that tried so hard to save her short little life. So many people donated to help her and we did do all we could. Special thanks to Dr. Pablo and Jayme at VCA Animal Hospital. They worked so hard and Jayme took her home to care for her. Also th...e staff that gathered around her with love. The 2 donor dogs that gave blood to try and save her and Jackie and Mitch for wanting to foster her and being with her in the end. A very special thank you to Dr. Abbe who looks out for the angels and tries her best to save as many as she can despite the odds that are against these precious babies. Please pay special attention to your 4 legged angels tonight and hold them close.
This beautiful gal is Sophie - formerly known as Sydney. She was rescued from a shelter at the request of the vet. We were told she was "the sweetest dog ever" and boy did that ring true! Sophie just wants to be near you and being petted is just heavenly! She is sometimes very scared of new things, but her new human brother and sister as well as her four legged brother are going to show her the ropes. ;) Sophie is about 1 year old and we believe a black mouth cur. We are so happy for you Sophie, have a great life!!

Hi Jacki,

I'm so glad I got back in touch. It must be so hard (but awesome) to fall in love with these little beasts only to have them fly the coop.
As you can imagine Byng is doing amazing. No health issues. We have some exciting news! Byng got a baby brother! We wanted to reach out to you when we were ready to get a second dog but this (no so) little man was in a bad situation. I finally convinced the owner to give him to us.

His name is lord Stanley (yes, we're geeks and we love our hockey) don't let the size fool you, Byng is the boss. The dynamic between the 2 of them is amazing. They are both such show offs & attention hogs, but Byng ALWAYS wins.

We celebrated her 5th birthday in August. I have noticed a slight drop in her activity level. It's easy to get her going, just throw the kong to her brother and she'll chase him around for an hour. He is helping her stay young and she is teaching him to be a good dog.

He was completely untrained when we got him. With his size it was a challenge. But Byng has been a great help. I'm happy to report after a year & a half he is now fully trained, finally at a healthy weight and is such a good boy.

I can't thank you guys enough for what you do. Byng is such an amazing gift.
This is what I have to be most thankful for this year, my Angel Ruby. Rescued by Lost Angels Animal Rescue this summer after being neglected with a shattered hip . She sleeps next to me every night and makes me smile every day. Remember my favorite saying in the new year " if petting a dog makes you smile then pet many of them" and volunteer or adopt a sweet one/s like I have.
We adopted Gypsy 3 years ago. Her name was Angel then. She has brought such joy to our lives. We are so thankful to Lost Angels for saving her as she was such a mess you couldnt even see her eyes when they first got her. She is still not fond of grooming but do to her good nature she puts up with it. Just wanted you to know she is so loved and will be with us forever as she is a true part of our family.Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6315137831467631062.post-92030494802799618452015-01-05T19:13:00.001-08:002015-01-05T19:13:25.597-08:00Patchie

Thought you would all enjoy seeing Patches (was Hank with LAAR). I adopted Patchie in August of 2011 and he was a bit of a challenge for quite a while. His foster mom only had him three days and we didn't know how fearful he was. When I would walk him in the park if he saw someone in dark clothing or with a big dog he would bark and bark. He might be a little guy but he has the biggest bark ever. My vet said it wasn't aggression but fear. I already knew that because he doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. So I came up with a plan and when he went for a "public" walk, he was partnered with my Cavalier, Katie who is very, very calm and friends with everyone. We have been doing that for a long time so 95% of the time if a big dog is coming toward us Patchie first looks up at me and then scoots next to Katie. He is a sweetheart and very affectionate. He is a happy little guy.Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6315137831467631062.post-53222889052464577072015-01-05T19:13:00.000-08:002015-01-05T19:13:12.767-08:00Yoshi

This is Yoshi who I adopted in January 2011 after Sophie (a rescue from St. Francis Rescue) passed on December 10, 2010. I was so sad I swore I would never get another dog. Katie, my Cavalier, had known Sophie since she was a baby and was beside herself without Sophie. It seemed like Katie kept looking for her. Then one day I was walking Katie in the park and a woman I did not know but who obviously had seen me waking Sophie and Katie asked where my "little gold dog" was. When I told her Sophie had passed she said I should adopt another dog and told me about LAAR. That night (a Friday) I looked at the site and saw this little guy and it was love at first sight. LAAR was at Petco the next morning but I was there before they even showed up. It turned out that someone had submitted an application on line and were coming to see Yo that day at one p.m. I was so sad and was sure I wouldn't get Yo - but I filled out an application anyway. To make a long story short, that didn't
work out and within five days Yoshi was home. He is the dearest, sweetest, most loving, playful little guy who always has a smile on his face while at the same time will look at you with the most thoughtful expression. You will see a ball in each of the pictures. Why? Because Yo loves, and I do mean loves, to play with his ball. So he has 20+ glow in the dark. If we go in the backyard to play it doesn't matter if it is day or evening he will run and get one of his balls to play. This is a wonderful little pup that doesn't have a single solitary flaw...and even if he did, he will be loved forever.Unknownnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6315137831467631062.post-53691365151710462622014-12-28T14:50:00.002-08:002014-12-28T14:50:46.253-08:00Bear Goofs Around :)~

It's Bear again! Bear has been in his forever home for over 3 years now. He was in foster care for just under 2 years after being passed around from home to home before he came to rescue. This handsome boy is Steel! He was rescued from Polk AS by Lost Angels when he was just 6 weeks old. He was all alone in that shelter and just a tiny pup! He was sick with kennel cough and he just wanted to sleep on someone's lap with his poor little snotty bubbly nose and yucky cough. He got better quickly though and was SUCH A GOOD PUPPY!

A few months later Steel found his forever home. His mom and dad love him to pieces. Steel turns One year old this month. His favorite activity is snuggles with mom or dad.

This beautiful little girl is Reese! She was brought up to Petco one day at only a few weeks old by a man asking if we would buy her. Seeing that he did not care much about her we offered him $10 for this sweetie and that was apparently enough to part with her.

Reese quickly found her forever home and has been a happy spunky little gal ever since :)Lost Angels Animal Rescue Familyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17029422229623986949noreply@blogger.com
