Tales of Tessa

After her 3rd grooming. She doesn't like to have her photo taken - hence tail down and no smile.
Her mouth is a bit crooked from the teeth removal and when she's tired, her tongue hangs out a bit on the right, lol! But look at all that fur! She walks almost a mile everyday and has learned how to play with Bingo, my Shihtzu. She eats everything. She's producing tears in both eyes and we have her skin allergies under control. Her hearing isn't great, but she has spirit enough to share!
When I start to close the house down for the night, she goes into my bedroom and sits by her chair for me to lift her up so she can sleep. She snores. Yup, she's one happy girl!

Christmas Joy

Julie and I just wanted to send you our latest family picture.  Roxie has been nothing short of amazing, and our little guy Jackson definitely has a best friend for years to come.

You can't tell in this picture (because she's being so protective :o)  ), but she is the happiest pup we've ever seen.  I think Julie would agree that we would never have a baby if it weren't for Roxie to show us how to care for others.  We both joke about who found her (we all know it was me because Julie was holding one of her brothers), but we remember how we almost lost her because my license didn't match.  We were in tears that day, thinking we'd lost her.  Here we are, she just celebrated her 21st birthday.  She had too many Dogdka & Tonics at the bar, but she made it :o)

Thank you both so much for what you do every day to help so many.  Because of your influence, we rescued Gracie who was a week from being put down for advanced heartworms.  We saved her, and she's made our family complete.  Her and Roxie are like mother and daughter.

We hope you had a Merry Christmas, and have a safe and Happy New Year.

Riley Enjoys His New Yard

Riley is doing very well adjusting to his new home. Here is a picture of him
enjoying the sun today in the back yard.  He loves to be outside and enjoys
investigating the yard with my two Labs'.  Today he buried his treat in the
dirt, then later dug it up and ate it. He is quite the character and has
added life to a very quiet house.  He is a very good boy.

Anja waiting for Santa!

Ozzie - now Rundo

We are so happy and fortunate to have been chosen by Ozzie, whom we're renamed Rundo. He is so sweet, well behaved, yet goofy and playful. We welcomed him into our home with our yellow lab, Lucky and they are getting along so well. Lucky does his lab thing and Rundo chases and barks at him and then runs to me. Brave little man. :) He has so much love to give and greets me at the door with a raspy howl. SO adorable every time. He has found his forever home. Thank you Lost Angels!

Beautiful Belle - Heartworm Success Story

This is a picture of my healthy, beautiful, blessing, named Belle.  We rescued her a couple of years ago through Lost Angels Rescue in Florida.  When we got her we were told she had heart worms and we were advised to go with the slow kill treatment so that is what we did.  About six months ago we had her tested again and the wonderful news was that she was heart-worm free and in great health.  Belle travels with us in our motor home.  She is the most wonderfully behaved dog we have ever had.  She keeps my husband and I entertained as she is so delighted to do whatever pleases us.   I had a dog when I was growing up in Florida that also had heart worms and I chose to put her through the heart worm treatment and she didn't  make it.   I would never put another dog through that again.  We so love our Belle and are so happy we stuck with the slow kill.  By the way, in our travels I have met so many people who rescued a dog with heart worms and now they are also heart worm free after this new treatment.
