Daisy & Sumo

I wanted to give you an update on Daisy.   She had her surgery for bladder stones and fully recovered.   I met with Daisy and Jennifer this afternoon as she wanted to do it while her kids were in school.

She is a total sweetheart and is Sumo’s long lost twin personality wise.    We decided it was best for me to take Daisy today as not to delay it any longer.   We packed up all her stuff and I brought her home to meet Sumo.

They seems to be getting along great.   Here’s a picture of the two of them this afternoon.  (Daisy on the left, Sumo on the right).   It looks like Sumo finally has a sister and playmate.

The Silver Lining

I just thought I’d send you a quick update. Silver is now “Dingo”.  It’s official and he comes to it already. A friend saw his adoption photo and said he looked like a “Tank”. We were tempted but he seemed to already like “Dingo”.

I tried to give him a little dental bone and he acted as though he had never seen a chewy before! Finally, after soaking it in a little chicken broth, he put it in his mouth and carried it around for hours like a cigar. (See Photos) He wouldn’t even give it up during his walk at the park.

He loves lying in the sun in the backyard when he first gets up….usually in the grass, but sometimes rolling in the dirt.

The licking issue is almost licked! (knock on wood) We had a couple of initial setbacks but it has completely healed over and dried up.

He had his first trip to the Davis island doggie beach and loved it! When we got there he ran right into the water and then acted startled but with a little encouragement he was swimming like a pro. He made friends with a min-pin-Chihuahua mix that followed him around the entire time and really seemed to enjoy swimming.

I made him a handicapped ramp for the bed but he still sits by it and grumbles until one of us pick him up. He has settled in very well and is getting spoiled rotten. He would lay in my arm like a baby all day long if I’d let him.

Matt adores him and says almost every day how lucky we got to find him and that it was definitely meant to be.

He’s doing great!

The Witch and the Scarecrow!

Missy (the witch) and Scooter (the scarecrow) got dressed up at daycare.  Scooter is a Lost Angels dog - we got him from the shelter before he was euthanized... he now has a WONDERFUL home : )

Newest Addition... Tiki

We rescued Tiki from Polk County Animal Services.  Her before and after pictures show what a wonderful life change this little girl has just had!

Tiki is approx 1 year old.  She needs to learn some sozialization skills like walking on a leash, but she is a very sweet girl and will be up for adoption soon.

Cuddle Bug Chloe!

Chloe was taken to a vet in Pensacola with her older brother to be euthanized because her owner didn't want dogs anymore.. Her poor brother was old and the vet did'
as his owner requested but when he saw how young and healthy Chloewas  he couldn't do it.  He vetted Chloe and called Mickey who volunteers at the Pensacola shelter.  Mickey contacted me and asked if we had room for Chloe.  At the time one of our former adopters had lost her chihuahua and was looking for another.  She only likes females so we told her about Chloe.. Well by the time I got Chloe here Elsa had adopted a couple other dogs but agreed to foster Chloe until she found a home.  Thank God for Dawn who volunteered to show Chloe at Petco on Saturdays and also took care of her adoption and getting her microchipped.. :)

Anyway Chloe has found her HOME!!  And I can't be happier that this little girl is finally where she will be loved for life.
Patty
From Chloe's new family!

We've been so wrapped up with this little girl, it's amazing.  She is just a bundle of love and her favorite spot is definitely being on someone's lap.  She already walks around like she owns the place so she is very settled in and happy.  She loves the little squeaky toys, but boy does she go thru them quickly!!!  LOL  I think we'll have to call her the Squeaky Terminator!!!!  She is spoiled rotten already and Robert is already a total pushover with her.  He is going to be a handful and he has to learn not to give her so many little treats!!

Thank you so very much for all your efforts in helping us adopt her.  We are spreading the word around about your organization.  We have a vet appointment tomorrow and will have them let people know about you guys when anyone is looking to adopt.

I'll certainly keep in touch and keep you updated on our little Chloe!!

Thanks again!!!
