Discovering my passion

I adopted "Nate" about 3 yrs. ago. We had lost our dog 6 mo. prior and our family just wasn't complete without a dog anymore. I found "Nate" on Petfinder and it was love at first sight for us. Lost Angels was deligent in checking us out as adopters and I appreciated that. Within a day we had Nate home and have since renamed him Otis. He was a active and curious puppy who forever made us laugh. He has grown into a super smart dog and awesome companion. He has completed two courses in Puppy Manners and Nose Works at New Dawn Animal Behaviour Center.

During this process I realized how much I had a passion for what Lost Angels does to make a difference to so many animals needing homes. For the last 2 yrs. I have been volunteering at the Humane Society of Pinellas and could not be happier working to rescue many more dogs & cats.

Thanks Lost Angels, keep up the good work!

The first picture is Nate on Petfinder, the second is about a year later (now 75 lbs!) and the third is with his new brother Ishmael (also Border Collie- Shephard mix).

RIP Molly

It's with much sorrow in my heart that I write this.. My sweet little Molly crossed the Rainbow Bridge on Sunday afternoon.Molly came to me from Hills Cty Animal Services July 2010. She had been adopted from Animal Services years prior as a much younger dog and at the age of 9 she found herself back at Animal Services. She was said to be a stray and when her owners were contacted they said they could not afford to get her out.. Poor Molly who was at that time Sasha.I took Molly and soon realized why her owners did not want her. She had cushings! Since I already had Polly who had cushings I renamed Sasha Molly and they became my cushings Twins!!.. Molly was the sweetest dog ever! never asking for anything except food of course .. lol When she wasn't eating she was laying on her back which was her favorite position. She was such a good girl..Friday I noticed Molly didn't want to eat a meatball.. OH NO that was not a good sign since because of her cushings she was obsessed with food. I took her to the vet on Saturday and they said she had hurt her back so put her on pain meds and also antibiotics because her teeth were very bad and we needed to have her on antibiotics before removing them. Sunday Molly just wasn't herself. Not drinking, not eating, not moving much. I took her to ER and was told they thought she either threw a clot to the brain or not a stroke either prognose wasn't good. She could barely stand and it looked as though she couldn't see either. I was desvasted! I could not believe what they were telling me. I made the decision I thought was right for Molly and I released her from her failing body.RIP my little girl! I will always love you.

Isis & Diego!

A while back, I promised Kelly that I would send a picture of Isis, the mini doxie, that we got from Lost Angels in 2010. I am sorry that it has taken so long, but here it is. Also, included is a picture of Diego, who is also a rescue from another group.
I have to say that Isis has been a delight and I think rescue is the only way to go. She does think that she is the boss around here and is constantly getting on Diego's case, but always has us laughing. She is a hoarder (under the bed) and a cover stealer, but is such a great addition to our family.
Again, here is the pic and thanks so much for our little Isis. I will continue to recommend Lost Angels and rescue to everyone.
Sincerely,
Jim and Jo Ann Rose

Willow

Willow in her new home. This girl was in terrible condition when her foster mom found her. This one literally brought tears to the eyes of a foster mom who has seen just about everything. Look at this beautiful girl now : )
